White Temple or Wat Rong Khun is a modern Buddhist temple, built at his own expense, by renowned Thai artist, Chalermchai Kositpipat. The construction of the White Temple began in 1997. White Temple is located 13 km from the city of Chiang Rai in northern Thailand. According to the author Chalermchai Kositpipat white temple represents the purity of the Buddha. Windows through which light enters the temple, symbolizing the light and wisdom of the Buddha. In  Wat Rong Khun is combined perfect blend of traditional Buddhist art with modern design solutions. Completely white walls are decorated with small pieces of glass, give to temple heavenly ease and magical appearance. Inside the temple walls are in golden tones, in mid golden flame, altar of Buddha. On four walls are painted four animals that symbolize the four elements: an elephant standing on the ground, naga stands above the water, the wings of the swan represent wind, lion’s mane is fire. Around the temple there is pond which symbolizes the life in dead.
